2022 Goa Legislative Assembly election
Legislative Assembly elections will be held in Goa in month of February 2022 to elect 40 members of the Goa Legislative Assembly.

Last election
The tenure of Goa Legislative Assembly is scheduled to be end on 15 March 2022.[1] The previous assembly elections were held in February 2017. After the election, Bharatiya Janata Party formed the state government, with Manohar Parrikar becoming Chief Minister.

Campaign
While campaigning for the election, All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) announced a proposed scheme where ₹ 5000 will be transferred to a woman in every family of the state. Congress Rajya Sabha MP P Chidambaram criticized the scheme stating the plan will cost ₹2,100 crore a year, a significant sum for the State of Goa with an outstanding debt of ₹23,473 crore at the end of March 2020. TMC campaign leader Mahua Moitra claimed that 6-8% of total state budget is possible, putting cash in hand and liquidity in system is needed in the depressed situation after Covid-19 pandemic.[2]
