Qızılqaya, Kalbajar

Qızılqaya (Gyzylgaya) or Harutyunagomer (Armenian: Հարությունագոմեր) is a village de facto in the Martakert Province of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh, de jure in the Kalbajar District of Azerbaijan. The village has an ethnic Armenian-majority population, and also had an Armenian majority in 1989.[2]

History

There is a 18th/19th-century church and cemetery in the village.[1]

During the Soviet period, the village was a part of the Mardakert District of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast.

Economy and culture

The village has a municipal building, a medical centre and a secondary school.[1]

Demographics

The village had 400 inhabitants in 2005,[3] and 517 inhabitants in 2015.[1]
