I Can See Your Voice (British series 1)

The British television mystery music game show I Can See Your Voice aired its inaugural first series, which premiered on BBC One on 10 April 2021.[1]

Series chronology

For this series, the program is taped without audience with enhanced health and safety protocols being implemented due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Gameplay

Format

Under the original format, the contestants can eliminate one or two mystery singers after each round. The game concludes with the last mystery singer standing that depends on outcome of a duet performance with a guest artist.[2]

Rewards

If the last mystery singer is a good singer, the contestants win a cash prize of £10,000. On the other hand, if the last mystery singer is a bad singer, the same amount is given to that singer instead.

Rounds

There are seven individuals of mystery singers standing on a platform to keep identities concealed until the "stage of truth" performance.

  1. First Impressions
    The guest artist and contestants are given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance.
  2. Lip sync
    Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song. Good singers mime to their own voices while bad singers mime to the voices of others.
  3. Unlock my Life
    Each mystery singer has a video package to convince the guest artist, but with voices being distorted.
  4. Interrogation
    The guest artist and contestants must choose one mystery singer to interrogate. The host is given a list of 15 questions shown on the screen and contestants can ask any of 15 questions within the 30 second time limit before making the final decision.
