Wuhu Rail Transit

Wuhu Rail Transit is a two-line monorail rapid transit system in Wuhu, Anhui, China. Both lines will use Bombardier Innovia Monorail trains manufactured under a joint venture with CRRC.[2] Line 1 opened on November 3, 2021, with line 2 expected to open by the end of 2021.[3]

History

Line 1

Line 1 has been under construction since December 2016.[4]

On September 25, 2021, Wuhu Rail Transit Line 1 launched a monthly long trial with 10,000 passengers per week expected to test the line for free.[5]

Line 1 opened on November 3, 2021.[1]

Line 2

The first phase of Line 2 started construction in 2018.[6]

Line 1 consists of 25 stations (all elevated stations) and 30.46 kilometres (18.93 mi)[8] of track between Baoshunlu station in the north and Baimashan station in the south.[7] It opened on November 3, 2021.[1]

The first phase of Line 2 runs between Wanchunhulu station to Jiuziguangchang station, with transfer to Line 1 at Jiuziguangchang station.[7] It consists of 11 stations and 15.787 kilometres (9.810 mi) of track.[9][10] It is also projected to be completed in 2021.

Planned

Line 2 (Phase 2)

The second phase of Line 2 is under planning and will be completed by 2025. It will extend Line 2 to Jiangbei railway station.[11]
