National anthem of the Kingdom of Afghanistan

The "Grand Salute" (Pashto: لوی سلام‎, romanized: Loya Salami), also known by its incipit "Our Brave and Noble King" (Persian: ای شاه غیور و مهربان ما‎, romanized: Shāh-e ghayur-o mehrabān-e mā) was the national anthem of the Kingdom of Afghanistan from 1943 to 1973.[1]

History

In 1943 during the reign of Zahir Shah, the national anthem was adopted, and replaced the first national anthem without a title and a text. Because of the relationship to the king, it was replaced after his overthrow in 1973.
