2022 California State Senate election
The 2022 California State Senate election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, with the primary election scheduled for June 7, 2022. Voters in the 20 even-numbered districts of the California State Senate will elect their representatives. The elections will coincide with the elections for other offices, including the state assembly.

The 4th district is located in the Sacramento Valley and includes parts of the Sacramento metropolitan area. The incumbent is Republican Jim Nielsen, who is term-limited and cannot run for re-election.
District 6
The 6th district is located in the core of the Sacramento metropolitan area, including the state capital of Sacramento and surrounding suburbs. The incumbent is Democrat Richard Pan, who is term-limited and cannot run for re-election.
